Job summary

Great Expressions Dental Centers is seeking a Patient Coordinator to be the first point of contact for patients, greeting them, handling inquiries, and supporting smooth clinic operations.

You will manage appointments, maintain patient records in our practice management system, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and coordinate with dental teams to ensure a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of proven experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role, preferably in a dental or healthcare setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in healthcare administration or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide a warm, friendly welcome at check-in.
• Maintain a comfortable waiting area for patients.
• Schedule and manage appointments based on patient and staff availability.
• Confirm and remind patients about upcoming appointments.
• Coordinate with dental staff to optimize the appointment calendar.
• Collect and update patient information and medical history.
• Create and maintain patient records in the management system.
• Ensure confidentiality and privacy compliance for patient records.
• Verify and update patient insurance information.
• Handle payments including co-pays and deductibles.
• Process insurance claims and liaise with providers.
• Answer patient inquiries by phone, email, or in person.
• Provide pre-appointment instructions and required forms.
• Maintain reception cleanliness and organize space.
• Coordinate with hygienists, assistants, and dentists on arrivals or changes.
