Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina's College of Dental Medicine seeks a skilled dental assistant to support multi-specialty faculty in patient care. Under supervision you will perform chairside assisting, set up operatory, and manage patient records in the EHR.

You will help obtain radiographs, maintain sterilization, assist with anesthesia support when appropriate, and ensure infection control and OSHA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or completion of an ADA accredited dental assisting course.
• Certification in Radiation Safety required for positions responsible for dental x-rays.
• One year of dental assisting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry for faculty providers across specialties.
• Set up operatory for dental and surgical procedures; maintain sterilization.
• Acquire or assist in acquiring radiographs per treatment plans or provider direction.
• Assist with patient transport and care; protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Maintain dental supplies and inventory; provide clinic administrative support.
