Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) CDM Nexton clinic is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to provide chairside support and radiography across multiple specialties. You will update patient information in the EHR and assist with anesthesia- managed procedures as needed.

Responsibilities include operatory setup, infection control, radiograph acquisition, patient transport, and inventory management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with ADA-accredited dental assisting training.
• One year dental assisting experience or three continuous years of dental assisting experience.
• Radiation Safety Certification required for positions responsible for dental x-rays.

Responsibilities

• Perform chairside assisting with four handed dentistry across general to specialty care.
• Set up operatory for dental and surgical procedures and maintain infection control.
• Acquire radiographs (periapical, panoramic, cephalometric, 3-D imaging) following safety standards.
• Assist with patient transport and monitoring after anesthesia.
• Maintain supplies and inventory, order stock, and manage MSDS/incident forms.
• Support other duties as directed by the clinic manager.
