Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC - Univ) is seeking a Dental Assistant to support faculty, residents and patients across multiple clinics. You will perform chairside procedures, prepare operatory setups, assist with radiographs and manage instruments while ensuring strict infection control and patient safety.

Responsibilities include radiograph acquisition, patient transport, and administrative support such as MSDS and incident reports.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma with ADA-accredited dental assisting training and 1 year of dental assisting experience.
• Or High school diploma with 3 continuous years of dental assisting experience.
• Certification in Radiation Safety required for positions responsible for dental x-rays.

Aufgaben

• Provide chair side assistance using four-handed dentistry techniques for faculty, students, and residents.
• Set up operatory for dental and emergency procedures; maintain infection control policies and sterilize instruments.
• Acquire or assist in obtaining necessary radiographs (periapical, panoramic, cephalometric, 3‑D) per treatment plans.
• Assist with patient care in urgent care, endodontic, screening, and special care clinics; monitor post-anesthesia safety.
• Manage dental supplies and inventory; maintain MSDS notebook, crash cart, and incident reporting forms.
• Support other clinics and duties as directed by the clinic manager/supervisor.
