Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Dental Assistant in the CDM clinics to support resident providers and ensure high-quality patient care. Under supervision, you will assist chairside with four-handed dentistry and prepare operatory setups for dental and surgical procedures.

You will also acquire radiographs, maintain infection control, manage supplies, and provide administrative support, including MSDS documentation and incident reporting, contributing to a smooth clinic

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with ADA-accredited dental assisting training.
• One year of dental assisting experience or three years’ experience with a high school diploma.
• Certification in Radiation Safety required for x-ray positions.

Responsibilities

• Chairside assisting for residents using four-handed dentistry.
• Set up operatory for dental and surgical procedures; maintain infection control.
• Acquire radiographs per treatment plan and safety standards.
• Assist with patient care and monitor post-anesthesia safety.
• Maintain dental supplies and inventory; manage MSDS notebook and incident reports.
• Assist in other clinics and perform related duties as directed.
