About the Role

We are hiring a Surgical Dental Assistant to support our doctors with oral surgery procedures. This role is ideal for someone with surgical experience seeking a fast-paced, high-quality clinical environment.

Note: The position begins with a brief paid working interview, typically one or two days, allowing both parties to assess fit before a full-time commitment. This process is transparent and straightforward.

Responsibilities

• Assist chairside during surgical procedures including extractions, implant placements, periodontal surgeries, and IV sedation
• Review and document medical histories accurately and carefully
• Maintain a sterile and well-prepared surgical environment
• Provide clear communication and patient support during procedures
• Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure smooth daily operations

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of dental assisting experience (10+ years preferred)
• Strong background assisting in oral surgery cases
• Comfortable with medical history review and documentation
• CPR certification required or willingness to obtain immediately
• Dentrix experience is preferred
• Professional, organized, attentive to detail

Additional Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist during procedures
• Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models
• Ensure infection control, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow safety protocols
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Assist in managing dental and medical emergencies, maintaining CPR certification, emergency supplies, and contact information

Additional Qualifications

Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program or six months of on-the-job experience with supporting documentation. X-Ray certification is required; Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended. A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary. Ongoing OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training are also expected.
