Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking a Service Center Manager to oversee an LTL operation, directing drivers and staff, scheduling, and ensuring safety and KPI achievement. The role involves dock planning, cost control, and customer communications in a fast-paced environment.

The candidate should have strong leadership, dispatch and dock experience in LTL trucking, with the ability to work flexible hours and manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent; Bachelor degree preferred.
• Thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry; basic paperwork flow preferred.
• Prior management, dispatch and dock experience in LTL trucking.
• Knowledge of local metropolitan area.
• Strong leadership including hiring, coaching, counseling, training, mentoring and terminating employees.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct drivers and employees; set targets and monitor performance.
• Ensure efficient, clean, and safe LTL operation including dock planning and schedules.
• Enforce company policies, safety rules and government regulations.
• Involved in hiring and termination processes.
• Administer portions of the Service Center Business plan.
• Meet KPI targets and utilize P&D tools to improve productivity.
• Review driver schedules to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Oversee paperwork and communications with customers and clerks.
• Conduct safety interviews and training following incidents.
• Regular attendance and flexibility for shifts, including nights/weekends.
