Job summary

Sysco in New Jersey seeks an Operations Supervisor to oversee Delivery staff, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and optimize routes and customer service. You will manage labor, schedules, and assets, while coordinating with Sales and Marketing to resolve issues.

The role requires leadership, budget awareness, and strong communication to drive efficient delivery operations and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• 1-3 years related experience and/or training.
• HazMat certification preferred.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver License meeting Company standards preferred.
• Complete a Sysco approved defensive driving program.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the daily work and safety of Delivery Associates, including SOPs and routes.
• Ensures DOT/OSHA compliance and accurate electronic logs.
• Manages labor hours and consumable supplies within budget.
• Prepares work schedules including extra days and shifts.
• Oversees proper use of company assets in delivery operations.
• Organizes repairs with appropriate departments as needed.
• Reviews delivery productivity and reporting.
• Suggests efficiency and cost reduction measures.
• Interprets and enforces company policies (food safety, DOT, record keeping).
• Communicates with Sales/Marketing to resolve customer issues.
• Visits customer locations to address delivery challenges.
• Maintains associate relations via pre-shift meetings and ongoing communication.
• Coordinates with Safety department for training and inspections.
• Executes staff selection, development, discipline, and performance reviews.
• Performs duties of supervised staff and related tasks as needed.
