Job summary

WSFCU is seeking a detail-oriented Collections Specialist to manage delinquent loan accounts in Las Cruces, NM. You will follow up with borrowers via calls or visits, send past-due notices, and document all actions in the member records.

You will also assist with negotiations, skip-tracing, and compliance with credit union policies. The role requires 2 years of collections experience, strong communication, and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years collections experience preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Control delinquent loan accounts and send reminders.
• Make follow-up calls and in-person visits on delinquent accounts.
• Review delinquent accounts with supervisor daily.
• Notify co-signers of delinquent status and document actions.
• Skip-trace accounts and follow prescribed collection routines.
• Assist in preparing end-of-month reports and related tasks.
• Comply with BSA/OFAC and all policies; support other areas as needed.
