Job summary

The Collector I at State Employees Credit Union of New Mexico maintains on-site responsibilities in the collections area, handling delinquent loans, credit cards, and related accounts. You will perform follow-up calls, issue notices, and keep precise records to support recoveries.

This role emphasizes member communication, adherence to policy, and teamwork with the Collections Manager to ensure compliant and effective collections operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to type and use office equipment.
• Must be 18+ and able to work on-site.

Responsibilities

• Respond to delinquent accounts and determine appropriate collection actions.
• Follow up on delinquent accounts and maintain accurate records.
• Send letters and documents to borrowers as needed.
• Research accounts using skip tracing and other resources.
• Coordinate with manager on legal/repo actions when needed.
• Transfer funds and document progress for delinquency reports.
• Assist with training and educating members about timely payments.
