Job summary

Orange County’s Federal Credit Union (OCFCU) seeks a Loss Mitigation and Collections Specialist to manage delinquent loans, negatives, and repayment plans in a professional manner. You will help maximize recoveries while upholding FDCPA, FCRA, and CFPB standards, collaborating with Loan Servicing teams.

With one year of relevant experience, you’ll navigate call center workflows and provide dependable member support, ensuring policy compliance and timely communication.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• At least one year of relevant work experience in collections or loan servicing.
• Knowledge of FDCPA, FCRA, Reg B/Reg Z and CFPB guidance.
• Understanding of state/federal regulations governing collections.

Responsibilities

• Contacts borrowers to identify causes of non-payment and arrange repayment options.
• Establishes effective payment plans and follows up on promises.
• Works in a call center handling inbound and outbound calls.
• Makes repossession recommendations and issues Final Demand Letters.
• Ensures compliance with debt collection laws and internal policies.
• Supports management to maximize loss recovery and member goodwill.
• Maintains high level of member service and promotes credit union products.
