Job summary

Farmers Furniture in Georgia is seeking a collections associate to locate, notify, and secure payments from delinquent accounts. You will contact customers by text or phone, review terms, and document all communications.

You will receive and post payments, balance a cash drawer, and travel to customers' homes as needed. The role supports store operations and may assist with paperwork for potential legal action.

Qualifications

• Six months experience in payment collections or general office procedures.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Sends text messages, mails letters and/or late charge notices to customers to encourage payment.
• Confers with customers by text or telephone to determine reasons for overdue payment and review terms.
• Documents all correspondence and attempted correspondence with customers.
• Receives payments and posts amounts to customer accounts.
• Maintains and balances cash drawer and ensures it is secure when unattended.
• Travels to customers’ homes to collect on late payments and assist with repossessions if approved.
• Prepares paperwork prior to legal action for severely delinquent accounts.
• Logs details of work activities on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Assists on the sales floor and updates CRM as needed.
