Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; six months experience in payment collections or general office procedures; or any combination of training, experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.

Responsibilities

• Sends text messages, mails notices, and late charge letters to encourage payment.
• Confers with customers by text or telephone to determine reasons for overdue payments and review terms.
• Documents all correspondence and attempted correspondence with customers.
• Receives payments and posts amounts paid to customer accounts.
• Maintains and balances a cash drawer and ensures it is secure when unattended.
• Travels to customers' homes as required to collect on late payments; assists with repossessions if approved.
• Prepares paperwork prior to legal action for severely delinquent accounts.
• Initiates credit investigations under direction of Credit Manager.
• Logs daily, weekly and monthly work activities and reports.
