Job summary

Motorola Solutions, via its Silvus Technologies subsidiary, seeks a Business Development Engineer for USMC engagements. You will bridge RF capabilities with Marine Corps needs, supporting field tests, demonstrations, and tactical edge networking across expeditionary environments.

This role requires up to 50% travel, a SECRET clearance or ability to obtain, and a strong background in SDR, TCP/IP, Linux, and scripting. Remote work options depend on location with a focus on defense programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering or related C5ISR field with 2–5 years’ experience; OR HS diploma with 5+ years’ defence tech experience.
• Exposure to Software-Defined Radios (SDRs) or IP-based routing or tactical comms.
• Familiarity with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal generators).
• Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain within 15 months of hire.
• Experience with TCP/IP networking, Linux, or scripting (Python/C++).
• Ability to work in a remote team setting.
• Outdoor environment for field trials and demonstrations.
• Lift up to 50 lbs for demos.

Responsibilities

• Map MAGTF network design goals to tactical radio solutions.
• Support planning, network config, and live field trials and evaluations.
• Collaborate to apply testing and benchmarking to verify architectures.
• Align with Business Development to meet technical needs and priorities.
• Create and present demos for expeditionary edge networking.
• Research market for partner integrations and test end-to-end networks.
• Engage with MARCORSYCOM, MCWL, PEO Land Systems, and naval centers.
• Gather field feedback to shape roadmap and track progress.
• Travel up to 50% for field tests and demonstrations.
