Job summary

Serco Inc. seeks an Operations Vice President of Defense Programs to lead a major Department of War portfolio with $150M+ annual revenue and ~400 staff across global operations.

The role requires active DoW Secret clearance, U.S. citizenship, and proven leadership in complex defense programs. You will shape strategy, drive performance, and expand critical customer relationships from Washington, D.C. and beyond.

Qualifications

• Active DoW Secret security clearance required.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Master's degree in Business, Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Or Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience.
• 12 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in DoW programs.
• Experience leading large, complex organizations across multiple programs or contracts.
• Experience managing large-scale business operations with P&L responsibility.
• Proven ability to build high-performing teams and foster inclusive culture.
• Strong strategic planning, business development, and customer relationship skills within DoW market.
• Excellent executive communication with senior government customers and partners.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic growth and operations for a DoW portfolio exceeding $150M in revenue.
• Provide executive leadership to Directors managing Navy acquisition, modernization, and maintenance programs.
• Set and execute strategies to drive growth, customer satisfaction, and business objectives.
• Oversee portfolio financial performance, forecasting, and cost management.
• Drive innovative, technology-enabled solutions addressing diverse mission needs.
• Engage with senior government customers, industry partners, and Serco leadership to identify growth opportunities.
• Lead business development, pipeline expansion, and capture activities across DoW market.
• Develop workforce, talent, and succession strategies for future growth.
• Guide organizational change and continuous improvement in response to market needs.
• Manage operational, financial, contractual, and programmatic risks.
