Job summary
Carter Lumber in Bluffton, IN is seeking an Outside Sales Rep to grow decking product sales with builders and remodelers. You will manage accounts, present decking solutions, and close projects on residential and commercial jobs.
The role requires a proactive hunter mindset, blueprints reading, and strong customer service; you will take-off estimates and coordinate delivery, focusing on outdoor living products and materials.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience selling decking products
- Ability to cold call and grow relationships
- Ability to read blueprints and perform take-offs
- Proven ability to increase sales and profitability
- Excellent communication and customer service
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Reliable transportation and valid driver''s license
- Experience in other building materials is helpful
Responsibilities
- Develops relationships with customers and subcontractors to determine their needs and provide beneficial services to them
- Responsible for attaining and maintaining the sales of all products, focused on outdoor living and decking
- Gives presentations to builders and provides expert advice on product features and benefits
- Do take offs and prepare estimates for these products and ensure they are ordered and shipped accurately and on time
