Job summary

Hornblower Group in San Francisco is seeking a Deckhand to monitor safety, assist in docking, ticketing, and guest service aboard passenger vessels. You will handle lines, maintain vessel cleanliness, and support crew with safety drills and operations under USCG and company policies.

Requirements include HS Diploma, TWIC, First Aid/ CPR, alcohol service certification, and strong customer service skills. Prior marine or deckhand experience is preferred; 18+ with valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• TWIC Card (or ability to obtain and maintain).
• First Aid/ CPR certification.
• Alcohol service certification.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with passengers, guests and fellow employees.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Minimum six (6) months customer service experience preferred.
• One (1) year experience as Deckhand onboard vessels; passenger vessel experience preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Copy of DD214, if Veteran status.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Monitor passenger and crewmember safety on the vessel.
• Participate in safety meetings, drills, and audits.
• Handle lines to dock or undock the vessel.
• Maintain vessel cleanliness and perform maintenance tasks as directed.
• Sell tickets and concessions and handle cash as needed.
• Provide guest service and assist with boarding and disembarking.
• Assist with fueling, shore power connections, and provisioning as directed.
