Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a DC Assistant General Manager to lead a large distribution center team across Inbound, Warehouse, Outbound and Office Operations. You will partner with the General Manager to shape strategies that maximize productivity and control costs, while collaborating with Stores, 3PLs, Merchandising, Supply Chain and Operations functions.

Key responsibilities include optimizing work methods, leading problem solving, coaching managers, and maintaining a strong safety culture

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's in Operations Management, Business or Supply Chain preferred.
• 3+ years of work experience in a related field preferred.
• Experience driving change and influencing across multiple levels is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager in evaluating methods, controls and staffing to optimize flow and warehouse layout.
• Provide recommendations to improve financial, operational, people and service objectives to reduce costs and drive efficiency.
• Ensure excellence in all warehouse areas, optimization of WMS and safe handling of inventory.
• Coach and develop management staff through informal on-floor guidance and formal evaluations.
• Maintain a culture of safety by enforcing policies and monitoring safety metrics daily, weekly and monthly.
