Job summary

IU Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCA) for a full-time day position in Indianapolis. The PCA provides compassionate bedside care, assists with meals, mobility, baths, and linens, and supports the bedside RN by obtaining vital signs and reporting changes.

Emphasis on patient safety and a fast-paced environment. Must maintain infection control standards, demonstrate strong communication, and manage a high workload while prioritizing patient well-being and comfort.

Qualifications

• Obtains vitals and reports abnormalities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy under pressure.
• Understanding of infection control principles and aseptic techniques.
• Ability to organize tasks, prioritize workload and exercise good judgment.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside clinical assistance to the RN and monitor patient safety.
• Assist with daily activities such as meals, mobility, baths, and linens.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized patient environment and adhere to policies.
