Job summary

Baystate Health's Baystate Medical Center seeks an experienced unit coordinator to support bed management, admissions, documentation and patient throughput. You will act as a receptionist for the unit and coordinate with staff to ensure smooth information flow and efficient operations.

Responsibilities include maintaining patient charts, using OA Gold, CIS and other systems, preparing discharge records, and assisting clinical teams with scheduling and transfers.

Qualifications

• GED or HiSET required.
• One year of acute care experience.
• Must pass dysrhythmia course within 6 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Bed management: track, prioritize and assign beds; coordinate admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Maintain patient records and logs; prepare discharge and transfer documentation.
• Serve as unit greeter and liaison; manage calls, messages and communication with departments.
• Utilize computer applications (OA Gold, CIS, Premise, People Soft) daily.
• Support hospitalists and clinical teams with scheduling, coverage and workflow.
