Job summary

Knowledge, Education For Your Success (KEYS) is a San Bernardino nonprofit dedicated to enhancing access to supportive services for low-income residents. The DATA SPECIALIST will manage participant data in HMIS and other program databases to support accurate reporting and program integrity.

The role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to collaborate with staff across departments to ensure timely data entry and reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required. An associate degree is preferred.
• Must have at least two years of experience performing data entry and generating reports.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate participant information in HMIS and other program databases, including enrolling and exiting participants.
• Review data for accuracy, completeness, and integrity to support monthly, quarterly, and annual contract reporting.
• Research data discrepancies, identify causes, and complete necessary corrections in HMIS.
• Collaborate with the Finance Manager, Fiscal Department, Data Analytics Manager, and other KEYS staff to investigate and resolve data errors.
• Assist with ongoing program reconciliation and ensure data correction reports are distributed and addressed in a timely manner.
• Verify that HMIS data is supported by appropriate documentation in participant files.
• Generate monthly HMIS data quality reports and provide additional data reports to the Management Team as needed.
• Provide training and guidance to staff across departments to promote accurate and timely data entry.
