Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a Data Products and Infrastructure team within Platform Engineering.

You will mentor backend and full-stack engineers and build data processing infrastructure at scale. You will set the team's roadmap, collaborate with Product, Operations, Data Science, and other Engineering teams, and mentor staff to deliver high-impact data pipelines that drive DAU, revenue and growth.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience; or a Master’s degree in a technical field + 7+ year of post-grad software development experience; or a PhD in a related technical field + 3+ years of post-grad software development experience
• 1+ years of experience managing a team of engineers
• Experience building large scale distributed systems
• Experience with big data processing and pipelines
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of practical work experience

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of backend and full‑stack developers, in a fast‑paced, quick‑to‑market environment
• Build infrastructure for data processing at Snap with large scale distributed systems
• Set the strategy, build a roadmap, create measurable goals, and lead your team to deliver
• Collaborate with Product, Operation, Data Science and Engineering teams, and executive stakeholders
• Evaluate the technical tradeoffs of major decisions and be a strong technical mentor
• Hire, grow and retain high‑performing team members
