Snap Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering to lead and mentor a team of engineers, set the vision, and collaborate with product, design, and data science teams to deliver high-quality, scalable products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field with strong problem-solving skills.
• 10+ years post-Bachelors software development experience; or advanced degree with fewer years of experience.
• 2+ years as an engineering manager or technical leader.
• Experience architecting, designing, and developing distributed systems and business-critical products.
• Experience leading and scaling engineering teams to deliver complex, high-impact work.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and mentor a team of software engineers.
• Set the technical vision, strategy, roadmap, and goals for the product engineering area.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data Science, Operations, and other Engineering teams to define requirements and deliver high-quality experiences.
• Design, implement, and scale critical components and services across the stack.
• Drive technical execution across multiple initiatives from launches to long-term architecture improvements.
• Establish a high bar for availability, scalability, privacy, security, and cost management.
• Provide technical direction beyond your immediate team and improve cross-team collaboration.
• Hire and develop engineers while building an inclusive, high-performing team.
• Communicate clearly with senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
