Job summary

Jacobs seeks a Telecom Section Manager to lead telecommunications scope on data center projects across the United States, coordinating with ICT and project teams. This role involves design leadership, schedule adherence, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

You will oversee a team of leads, drive forecasting and staffing, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with DIV 27 specs, ANSI/TIA, BICSI, NFPA 70, and related standards while maintaining strong client and vendor

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electrical engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience actively leading designs for Telecommunications structured cabling systems.
• Minimum 2 years' experience managing a small team.
• Credential as an RCDD.
• Experience working on the construction of data centers.
• Thorough knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards.
• Thorough knowledge of NFPA 70 and how it applies to telecommunications structured cabling systems.
• Familiarity working with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and Revizto.
• Self-motivation to coordinate with other disciplines, project managers and clients.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• Experience with responding to RFP’s.
• Experienced in creating a budget for a project.
• Experienced in creating and maintaining a project schedule.
• Experienced in identifying and mitigating company risk.

Responsibilities

• Organizing and assigning a team of leads across various projects and clients.
• Project forecasting and staffing resources.
• Budgeting resources for multiple projects.
• Guiding and mentoring project leads throughout the design process.
• DIV 27 specification review and modification.
• Conducting site visits.
• Review of technical documents.
• Managing the relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
• Active communication with the department manager and the telecom leads to ensure deadlines are being met.
