Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Telecom Section Manager to lead telecommunications design on data center projects across the United States. You will guide a team of leads, coordinate with SME’s, project managers and clients, and ensure designs meet standards and schedules.

This hybrid, nationwide role offers the chance to work with diverse teams, perform site visits, review specifications, manage budgets, and drive timely project delivery while upholding Jacobs' commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience leading telecommunications designs.
• Minimum 2 years' experience managing a small team.
• Credential as an RCDD.
• Experience with data center construction.
• Familiarity with ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70 in telecom cabling.
• Experience with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and Revizto.
• Strong coordination with other disciplines and clients.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• Experience responding to RFPs.
• Budgeting and scheduling experience.
• Identifying and mitigating company risk.

Responsibilities

• Organizing and assigning a team of leads across projects and clients.
• Forecasting projects and staffing resources.
• Budgeting resources for multiple projects.
• Guiding project leads through the design process.
• DIV 27 specification review and modification.
• Conducting site visits.
• Reviewing technical documents.
• Managing relationships with stakeholders.
• Active communication with the department manager and the telecom leads to ensure deadlines are being met.
