Job summary

Jacobs seeks a Telecom Section Manager to lead data center telecommunications design across multiple projects. You will coordinate a team of leads, mentor designers, and ensure designs meet ANSI/TIA and NFPA 70 standards while aligning with client goals.

This hybrid position supports collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, manages budgets and schedules, conducts site visits, and drives timely project delivery within a dynamic data center environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline; if no degree, high school diploma may be considered.
• Minimum 4 years leading telecoms structured cabling designs.
• Minimum 2 years' experience managing a small team.
• RCDD credential.
• Experience on data center construction.
• Knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70 and its application to cabling.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks and Revizto.
• Strong coordination with other disciplines, PMs and clients.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• Experience responding to RFPs.
• Budgeting and scheduling experience.
• Risk identification and mitigation experience.

Responsibilities

• Organize and lead a team of project leads across multiple projects.
• Forecast projects and allocate staffing resources.
• Budget resources for multiple projects.
• Guide and mentor project leads through the design process.
• Review DIV 27 specs and modify as needed.
• Conduct site visits.
• Review technical documents.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders.
• Communicate with the department manager and telecom leads to meet deadlines.
