Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Telecom Section Manager to lead the telecom scope on data center projects across the United States. You will provide design leadership for structured cabling, telecom rooms, and inside/outside plant systems while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires 4+ years leading telecom designs, 2+ years of team management, and a solid grasp of ANSI/TIA/BICSI standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in electrical engineering or related field.
• 4+ years leading designs for Telecommunications structured cabling systems.
• 2+ years managing a small team.
• RCDD credential.
• Experience with data center construction.
• Thorough knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards.
• Familiarity with Revit, Navisworks and Revizto.
• Strong PM and communication skills.
• Experience responding to RFPs.
• Experience budgeting and scheduling projects.
• Ability to identify and mitigate risk.

Responsibilities

• Organize and lead teams across multiple projects and clients.
• Forecast projects and staff resources.
• Budget resources for multiple projects.
• Mentor project leads through design processes.
• Review and modify DIV 27 specifications.
• Conduct site visits and review technical documents.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders.
• Coordinate with department manager and telecom leads to meet deadlines.
