Job summary

Ericsson is seeking a Data Center Services Technician to support installation, operation, and maintenance of data center infrastructure in Plano, TX, with a remote option within Texas. The role focuses on rack-and-stack, cabling, provisioning, testing, and documentation in line with Ericsson standards.

You will work with minimal supervision to deploy servers, network devices, and storage, while ensuring safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in data center operations, structured cabling, telecommunications, field services, or IT infrastructure support.
• High school diploma, technical certification, vocational training, or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of data center hardware, racks, servers, networking equipment, power distribution systems, and structured cabling.
• Understanding of copper and fiber cabling practices, basic optical networking concepts, and installation standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, installation documentation, and MOPs.
• Experience performing rack-and-stack, cabling, testing, and equipment installation activities with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to quality and safety.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technicians, project teams, vendors, and customers while managing assigned work independently.

Responsibilities

• Independently install and deploy servers, network devices, storage equipment, and related infrastructure according to engineering designs and installation documentation.
• Install, route, terminate, and dress copper and fiber cabling while ensuring proper labeling and cable management.
• Install rack PDUs, connect equipment to power sources, and verify power and management connectivity.
• Perform equipment provisioning, hardware component installation, and OOB management connections.
• Execute basic testing and validation activities, including continuity testing and fiber verification, plus MACD moves.
• Maintain accurate installation records, test results, inventory updates, and as-built documentation.
• Identify design concerns, operational issues, and safety risks to senior technicians or site leadership.
