Job summary

Ericsson is seeking a Data Center Services Technician to install, operate and maintain data center infrastructure in Plano, TX, with a remote option within Texas. You will perform rack-and-stack, cabling, testing and provisioning while adhering to safety and Ericsson standards.

The role suits technicians with data center, telecom or IT infra background who can work with minimal supervision and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or technical certification; relevant experience accepted.
• 1+ years in data center operations, cabling, field services or IT infrastructure support.
• Working knowledge of data center hardware, racks, servers, networking gear, power systems and cabling.
• Understanding copper and fiber cabling practices and basic optical concepts.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and installation docs; interpret MOPs.
• Experience performing rack-and-stack, cabling, testing and equipment installs with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and safety.
• Ability to collaborate with technicians, project teams, vendors and customers while managing tasks independently.

Responsibilities

• Install and deploy servers, network devices, storage, and related infrastructure per designs and docs.
• Route, terminate, and label copper and fiber cabling with proper management.
• Install PDUs, connect to power sources, verify connectivity.
• Provision equipment, install hardware components and OOB management connections.
• Perform basic testing, verification, MACD tasks and FRU replacements per procedures.
• Keep installation records, test results, inventory, and as-built docs up to date.
• Identify design or safety issues and escalate to seniors or leadership.
