Job summary

Ericsson is seeking a Data Center Services Technician to support installation, operation, and maintenance of data center infrastructure in Plano, TX. The role suits technicians with data center or IT infrastructure background who can work independently on standard deployment tasks.

You will perform rack-and-stack, cabling, equipment provisioning, testing, and documentation while following safety and engineering standards.

Qualifications

High school diploma or technical certification or equivalent.
1+ years in data center operations, cabling, telecom, or IT infra.
Working knowledge of data center hardware, racks, servers and networking gear.
Understanding of copper and fiber cabling and basic optical concepts.
Ability to read engineering drawings, MOPs and installation docs.
Experience with rack-and-stack, cabling, testing and installs with minimal supervision.
Attention to detail, organization, quality and safety.
Ability to collaborate with technicians, project teams, vendors and customers.

Responsibilities

Independently install and deploy servers, network devices, storage, and related infra per designs.
Install and route copper/fiber cabling with proper labeling and management.
Install PDUs, connect to power sources and verify proper connectivity.
Provide equipment provisioning, hardware installation and OOB management.
Perform testing, continuity checks, fiber verification and turn-up procedures.
Execute MACD activities and FRU replacements following procedures.
Maintain installation records, tests, inventory, and as-built docs.
Escalate design concerns, ops issues, and safety risks to senior staff.
