Job summary

Siemens Energy seeks a Market Application Specialist for Data Center Solutions to shape substation concepts from early sales stages. You will collaborate with Sales and customers, translating market needs into competitive technical concepts and defining the technical scope.

You will coordinate with engineering teams and factories to ensure the solution is technically sound, aligned with standards, and ready for costing and proposals, while maintaining ownership of the design basis.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering or power systems.
• Knowledge of single line diagrams and substation layouts.
• Experience with Data Center projects or critical infrastructure development is beneficial.
• Ability to explain complex technical decisions clearly in customer discussions.

Responsibilities

• Clarify customer requirements, project drivers, specifications, site conditions, and decision criteria with Sales.
• Independently define the substation concept, including SLD, layout, voltage levels, key equipment, interfaces, assumptions, and technical scope.
• Select and specify main electrical equipment and develop technical documentation for costing and proposal preparation.
• Validate the complete solution against customer needs, standards, portfolio capabilities, risks, and delivery requirements.
• Coordinate specialist input from engineering teams and factories while retaining technical ownership.
• Ensure internal process readiness across opportunity development, technical clarification, costing input, risk clarification, and proposal documentation.
• Present and defend the technical concept in customer discussions and hand over to execution.
