Job summary

ABB is seeking a results-driven leader to run day-to-day Data Center Services operations in the United States. You will oversee the Center of Excellence activities, deploy field service strategies, and lead Surge Team operations to ensure high-quality execution across projects.

The role requires up to 50% travel, strong customer focus, and compliance with safety standards. Remote work within the U.S. is supported, with preference for Western/Mountain time zones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business or commensurate experience.
• Knowledge of Data Center Start-up and Commissioning strategies, field service personnel development and the electrical industry within the Data Center market
• Knowledge of MS suite of products including MS Project, Google suite of products (Sheets, Docs, Drive, and Slides), SAP, and project issue resolution software (BIM, Compass, CxAlloy, Procore, etc.)
• Must be able to interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Technical understanding of power delivery equipment: transformers, switchgear, breakers, relays, etc.
• Maintain high standards for safety and housekeeping and assure compliance with all environmental regulations
• Strong leadership, clear communication, teamwork, and a proven customerfocused mindset.
• Willing to travel up to 50% of time
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

• Implements and reviews field service strategy aligned with global objectives.
• Ensures strong customer focus, urgency, and care in all service interactions to drive retention.
• Drives continuous improvement and KPI-based performance management.
• Identifies onsite opportunities to enhance customer operations and communicates them to account teams.
• Leads a culture of operational excellence, risk management, and end-to-end service delivery.
• Manages resource planning, workload balancing, and compliance with HSE standards.
• Oversees Surge Team operations, onboarding, training, compliance, and validation of timesheets, expenses, and supplier invoices.
• Provides leadership, coaching, and development for Field Service Engineers/Technicians.
• Collaborates across ABB teams to assign personnel, resolve issues, and drive improvement.
