Job summary
Zones, LLC is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to support enterprise server hardware in our Buffalo, NY data centers. This 6-month+ contract role focuses on installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades with an emphasis on uptime and customer satisfaction.
You will install and configure servers, perform break-fix repairs, coordinate with NOC and operations teams, and maintain accurate service records.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on data center server hardware experience.
- Associate degree in IT, CS, Electronics, or equivalent.
- Experience with server brands: Supermicro, Dell PowerEdge, HPE, Lenovo, Cisco UCS.
- Strong hardware diagnostics, problem-solving and customer service.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in raised-floor data centers.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and deploy enterprise server hardware in data center environments.
- Perform break‑fix maintenance and hardware replacement for servers and storage devices.
- Diagnose and resolve server hardware failures (GPUs, CPUs, memory, RAID controllers, power supplies).
- Coordinate with NOC, system admins, and data center ops teams; document work in ticketing systems.
- Participate in on‑call rotations and ensure adherence to safety and change-management procedures.
