Job summary

Salute is seeking a Remote Hands Technician to deliver on-site data center support for hyperscale clients. You will perform hardware installations, rack and stack, cabling, and break-fix tasks, while adhering to safety and operational procedures.

The role requires 2+ years in Telecom/IT data center environments, strong troubleshooting, and experience with ticketing systems. Excellent documentation and customer service are essential for success in this fast-paced role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in Telecommunications or IT related field, supporting data center, mission-critical, or colocation environments.
• Working knowledge of data center operations, hardware installation, asset management, and infrastructure support.
• Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting server, storage, and networking equipment from multiple vendors.
• Understanding of structured cabling systems, including copper and fiber optic installations, patching, testing, and cable management best practices.
• Experience using ticketing systems, asset management platforms, and operational documentation tools.
• Ability to interpret and execute operational procedures, maintenance tasks, and project plans.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to respond effectively during high-priority incidents.

Responsibilities

• Perform Remote Hands services tracked via client ticketing system, including rack and stack, cabling, and hardware troubleshooting.
• Receive, install, and test copper and fiber interconnects.
• Use power tools and hand tools to install and maintain equipment.
• Provide timely customer and internal updates using ticketing system.
• Assist with documentation and inventory verification/counts.
• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures; maintain clean data center environment.
• Respond to emergencies within a 1-hour average and coordinate with remote operations teams.
