Job summary

Salute, Inc. is hiring a Data Center Operations Technician in Hillsboro, OR. This full-time role focuses on day-to-day operations, incident response, and equipment deployment in a remote hands environment.

You will install and maintain server, storage, and network hardware, manage asset records, and collaborate with engineering and facilities teams to ensure uptime and reliability in hyperscale data center settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
• 2+ years of experience supporting data center, mission-critical, or colocated environments.
• Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting server, storage, and networking equipment from multiple vendors.
• Understanding of structured cabling systems, including copper and fiber optic installations, patching, testing, and cable management best practices.
• Experience using ticketing systems, asset management platforms, and operational documentation tools.
• Ability to interpret and execute operational procedures, maintenance tasks, and project plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support within the data center environment, ensuring reliable and efficient facility operations.
• Respond to incident tickets, service requests, and change orders in a timely and professional manner.
• Install, rack, mount, cable, and decommission server, storage, and network equipment according to industry and client standards.
• Prepare equipment for installation, including asset tagging, staging, testing, and documentation.
• Replace failed hardware components including hard drives, memory, power supplies, fans, network modules, and other server-related components.
• Monitor data center infrastructure using Building Management Systems (BMS) and other monitoring tools; respond to alarms and anomalies promptly.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to execute maintenance and upgrades.
