Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Data Center Technician to perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a Data Center operation. You will support daily critical facility systems and ensure safe, reliable service.

The role involves working with Mechanical and Electrical systems, responding to BMS alarms, coordinating with vendors, and documenting maintenance activities. Shift flexibility and physical requirements apply; prior apprenticeship or technical training preferred.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or technical training with 1–2 years of related experience.
• Ability to work shifts that may include weekends and holidays.
• Must meet the physical requirements of the role.
• Ability to present information clearly to internal stakeholders.
• Basic math and ability to interpret figures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily site inspections of Mechanical & Engineering systems and equipment, including servicing and maintenance.
• Ensure the site's environmental conditions provide a safe work environment.
• Respond to Building Management System alarms and complete emergency repairs as needed.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and ensure compliance with processes and regulations.
• Complete planned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance on all equipment.
• Check BMS for running and alarm conditions and respond to HVAC-related client problems.
• Perform building walkthroughs and take meter readings from UPS, PDU, and utilities.
• Provide fixes to facility and plant faults and defects.
• Follow safety processes and maintain comprehensive maintenance records.
