Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Data Center Technician to perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a Data Center operation. This role is part of the Critical and Technical Services function, focusing on technical maintenance in critical client environments.

You will inspect mechanical and electrical systems, react to BMS alarms, coordinate with vendors, perform PMs, monitor UPS/PDU readings, and maintain accurate maintenance records while following safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Training in a technical discipline with an apprenticeship or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of job-related experience preferred; shifts may include weekends/holidays.
• Ability to present information clearly to internal teams and management.
• Basic math skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily site inspections of Mechanical & Engineering systems and equipment.
• Ensure environmental conditions provide a safe work environment.
• Respond to Building Management System alarms and perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Work with third-party vendors and ensure compliance with processes and regulations.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance on equipment.
• Check BMS for running/alarm conditions and address HVAC-related client issues.
• Take meter readings from UPS, PDU, and utilities during building walkthroughs.
• Maintain comprehensive maintenance records and adhere to safety standards.
