Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Data Center Technician to perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a critical data center environment. You will work under supervision to ensure safe operations and efficient, compliant service delivery.

Responsibilities include inspecting mechanical and electrical systems, responding to BMS alarms, coordinating with vendors, and maintaining accurate records. The role requires basic technical training, shift flexibility, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or technical diploma plus 1–2 years relevant experience.
• Able to work shifts including weekends/holidays.
• Physical requirements of the role must be met.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
• Good organizational skills and problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily site inspections of Mechanical & Engineering systems, servicing and maintenance.
• Respond to Building Management System alarms and perform emergency repairs.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors while ensuring compliance with processes and laws.
• Complete planned and reactive maintenance on equipment.
• Check BMS for HVAC conditions and address client issues.
• Take meter readings from UPS, PDUs and utilities during walkthroughs.
• Adhere to safety, quality standards and complete training.
• Follow established procedures and deliver outputs under supervision.
