Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Project Engineer to join the onsite Construction Management team and support the delivery of data center construction.

You will coordinate with vendors, manage information flow, and maintain documentation including RFIs, change orders, and schedules. The role requires extensive liaison with operations, networks, controls, and security teams on safety, quality, and project milestones.

Qualifications

• 3+ years vendor management experience.
• 5+ years Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or 1+ years of relevant discipline work experience.

Responsibilities

• Leading cross-functional communication and coordination between regional general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams, ensuring seamless information flow for construction protocols, documentation access, and standardized procedures
• Developing and maintaining comprehensive tracking systems for design modifications, RFIs, and change orders, creating detailed dashboards with priority levels and deadlines for regional leadership review
• Evaluating Method of Procedure (MOP) submissions for thoroughness, necessity, and risk assessment
• Managing vendor onboarding processes, including security credentialing and orientation programs
• Maintaining current project management software with critical milestone updates, correspondence records, and document control
• Coordinating and monitoring owner-furnished material deliveries to ensure timely arrival at construction sites
• Establishing and managing a centralized repository for contractor-supplied construction data
• Overseeing quality assurance programs through implementation of various checklists, including substantial completion verification, safety protocols, and quality control measures
