Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a proactive Preconstruction Project Manager to bridge design and construction across multiple sites in the United States. This role coordinates design, procurement, scheduling and construction teams to plan, mitigate risks and keep projects on time and within budget.

Travel up to 50% is expected, with a hybrid work arrangement balancing remote work and on-site collaboration with clients and teams nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or equivalent degree; or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree.
• 5+ years experience in managing construction projects related to industrial and/or commercial facilities.
• Experience with 3D Modelling software.
• Field Construction Experience on active construction projects.
• Effective communication and leadership skills.
• Experience optimizing construction scheduling and sequencing.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of time for project needs; some extended site presence may be required.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities

• Support the preconstruction team on bid package development, scheduling, estimating, virtual design and construction modeling, and reporting.
• Participate as a key contributor for design constructability and sequencing plans.
• Drive collaboration between stakeholders.
• Know Client Expectations and Manage Client Interface.
• Lead planning efforts with design, procurement and construction teams for timely information flow.
• Conduct constructability reviews during all design phases with appropriate resources.
• Support modularization and off-site manufacturing studies.
• Support estimate and schedule development and identify optimization opportunities.
• Develop subcontracting and procurement strategies with construction and procurement teams.
• Support development of 4-D visualizations.
• Develop site logistics plans including utility and offsite requirements.
• Coordinate with Jacobs safety, quality, project services and technical groups for preconstruction planning.
• Prepare and maintain Risk Registers and Mitigation Plans.
• Foster a cooperative partnership among client, contractor and stakeholders to resolve issues timely.
