Job summary

Jacobs’ Advanced Manufacturing group seeks a proactive Preconstruction Project Manager to bridge engineering design and construction. You will coordinate planning, budgeting, scheduling, and risk mitigation across design, procurement and construction teams to ensure early-phase success and a smooth transition into construction.

The role requires 5+ years of construction project leadership, strong communication skills, and willingness to travel up to 50% across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or equivalent degree.
• 5+ years experience in managing construction projects for industrial/commercial facilities.
• Experience with 3D modelling software.
• Field construction experience on active projects.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Experience optimizing construction scheduling and sequencing.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of time across North America.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment with distributed teams across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Support the preconstruction team on tasks including bid package development, scheduling, estimating, model-based planning, and reporting.
• Contribute to design-constructability and sequencing plans.
• Drive collaboration among stakeholders.
• Manage client interface and expectations.
• Lead planning efforts with design, procurement and construction teams for timely information flow.
• Perform constructability reviews across design phases with appropriate resources.
• Support modularization and off-site manufacturing studies.
• Assist with estimate and schedule development and optimization opportunities.
• Develop subcontracting and procurement strategies with construction and procurement teams.
• Assist in developing 4-D visualizations and site logistics plans.
• Coordinate with safety, quality, and project services groups to ensure a comprehensive preconstruction process.
• Maintain risk registers and mitigation plans.
• Foster a cooperative partnership among client, contractor and stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.
