Job summary

Jacobs’ Advanced Manufacturing group seeks a proactive Preconstruction Project Manager to bridge engineering design and construction, coordinating across design, procurement and construction teams to keep projects on schedule and within budget. The role involves extensive client interfacing, risk management, and collaboration across multiple offices in North America, with up to 50% travel.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in a related field, 5+ years in industrial/commercial construction,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, architecture or equivalent.
• 5+ years experience in managing industrial/commercial construction projects.
• Experience with 3D modelling software.
• Field construction experience on active projects.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Support the preconstruction team on bid package development, scheduling, estimating, VDC modeling, and reporting.
• Contribute to design constructability and sequencing plan.
• Drive collaboration between stakeholders.
• Manage client expectations and interface.
• Lead planning with design, procurement and construction teams for timely information flow.
• Conduct constructability reviews during design phases.
• Review modularization and off-site manufacturing studies.
• Develop subcontracting and procurement strategies with teams.
• Support development of 4-D visualizations and site logistics plans.
• Coordinate with safety, quality, and project services groups for preconstruction planning.
• Maintain risk registers and mitigation plans.
• Foster cooperative partnerships among client, contractor and stakeholders.
