Job summary

Jacobs’ Advanced Manufacturing group seeks a proactive Preconstruction Project Manager to bridge engineering design and construction, ensuring plans align with budgets and client expectations. You will coordinate with design, procurement, scheduling and construction teams to mitigate risks and deliver projects on time.

The role requires 5+ years of construction leadership, strong communication, and the ability to travel up to 50% across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or equivalent degree; or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree.
• 5+ years experience in managing construction projects related to industrial and/or commercial facilities
• Experience with 3D Modelling software
• Field Construction Experience on active construction projects
• Effective communication and leadership skills
• Experience optimizing construction scheduling and sequencing
• Ability and willingness to travel to support project and client needs during planning, design, procurement and early construction phases. Travel up to 50%
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment while supporting project teams and stakeholders located across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities

• Support the preconstruction team on tasks involved in preconstruction planning deliverables including bid package development, scheduling, estimating, virtual design and construction modeling, and reporting
• Participate as a key contributor for design constructability and sequencing plan
• Drive collaboration between stakeholders
• Know Client Expectations and Manage Client Interface
• Lead planning efforts including strategy development, and execution with design, procurement and construction teams
• Conduct constructability reviews during all design phases for synchronized resource planning
• Support review of modularization and off-site manufacturing studies
• Support estimate and schedule development and identify optimization opportunities
• Develop subcontracting and procurement strategies with construction management and procurement
• Support development of 4-D visualizations
• Develop site logistics plans including utilities and offsite requirements
• Coordinate with safety, quality, project services and technical groups on preconstruction planning
• Prepare and maintain Risk Registers and Mitigation Plans
• Foster cooperative partnerships among client, contractor and stakeholders to resolve issues timely
