Job summary

Jacobs Advanced Manufacturing group is seeking a proactive Preconstruction Project Manager to bridge design and construction within set budgets and schedules. The role requires extensive cross-team communication across design, procurement, and construction to plan, mitigate risks, and ensure a smooth transition from early design through construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or equivalent degree; or equivalent years of experience
• 5+ years experience in managing construction projects related to industrial and/or commercial facilities
• Experience with 3D Modelling software
• Field Construction Experience on active construction projects
• Effective communication and leadership skills
• Experience optimizing construction scheduling and sequencing
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of time; remote/hybrid collaboration across time zones

Responsibilities

• Support the preconstruction team on bid package development, scheduling, estimating, VDC modeling, and reporting
• Contribute to design constructability and sequencing planning
• Lead collaboration between stakeholders
• Manage client interface and expectations
• Develop strategies with design, procurement and construction teams for efficient information flow
• Conduct constructability reviews during design phases and verify resources
• Support modularization and off-site manufacturing studies
• Assist in estimating and schedule development and identify optimization opportunities
• Develop subcontracting and procurement strategies with teams
• Assist in developing 4-D visualizations
• Create site logistics plans including utilities and offsite needs
• Coordinate with safety, quality, and project services groups on preconstruction
• Prepare risk registers and mitigation plans
• Foster cooperation among client, contractor, and stakeholders to resolve issues
