Job summary

Jacobs’ Advanced Manufacturing group seeks a proactive Preconstruction Project Manager to bridge engineering design and construction, ensuring schedules and budgets are met. The role requires extensive cross-team communication and planning across North America with significant travel.

Responsibilities include bid development, scheduling, 3D modeling, and risk management to deliver well-coordinated projects from early design through construction and handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or equivalent.
• 5+ years experience managing construction projects in industrial/commercial facilities.
• Experience with 3D Modelling software.
• Field Construction experience on active projects.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% across North America.

Responsibilities

• Support the preconstruction team on tasks including bid package development, scheduling, estimating, VDC modeling, and reporting.
• Contribute as a knowledge base for design-constructability and sequencing plans.
• Drive collaboration among stakeholders and manage client interfaces.
• Lead planning efforts with design, procurement and construction teams to ensure timely information flow.
• Conduct constructability reviews across design phases and coordinate resources.
• Support development of 4-D visualizations and site logistics plans.
• Coordinate safety, quality and project services groups to ensure a comprehensive preconstruction process.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or equivalent
