Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Pre-Construction Manager to lead the planning and execution of nationwide data center projects.

You will coordinate with Real Estate, Design Engineering, Due Diligence, and partner teams to forecast schedules, budgets, and constructability during planning and design phases. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of project management experience in data centers or critical infrastructure.
• Experience with MS Excel and Windows OS.
• Experience with power management and monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform constructability reviews of critical scopes for new data centers.
• Drive build phasing evaluations across civil, structural, electrical fields for potential sites.
• Communicate site requirements impacting schedule, cost, and delivery.
• Negotiate with land sellers, developers, and general contractors; evaluate bids and scoping documents.
• Manage GC and third-party vendors delivering preconstruction services during design phase.
• Define construction scopes and issue RFPs to general contractors; review bid summaries and milestones.
• Support issuance of contracting documents (Work Orders, Purchase Orders, Work Letters).
• Develop handoff project documentation to Construction Manager partners.
• Collect, evaluate, and share lessons learned to improve program performance.
• Willingness to travel 25% of the time.
