Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Pre-Construction Manager to lead program execution for nationwide data center site development.

You will serve as the primary liaison between Real Estate, Design Engineering, Due Diligence, and other partner teams from planning through design development to provide schedule forecasting, budgeting, and constructability guidance. The role requires extensive practical construction experience with bidding, contracting, and engineering documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience bringing new design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment.
• Proficient in MS Excel and Windows OS; knowledge of power management and monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform constructability reviews for new data center builds and drive improvements in baseline.
• Conduct build phasing evaluations across civil, structural, electrical domains for site potential.
• Determine and communicate site requirements impacting schedule, cost, and delivery.
• Negotiate with land sellers, developers, and GC bids; evaluate proposals and scoping documents.
• Manage GC and third-party vendors delivering preconstruction services during design.
• Define construction scopes and issue RFQs to GCs; review bid summaries and milestones.
• Support contracting documentation issuance (Work Orders, Purchase Orders).
• Develop handoff project documentation to Construction Manager partners.
• Capture lessons learned to improve processes across design and construction teams.
• Travel up to 25%.
