Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Pre-Construction Manager to lead the planning and budgeting of new data center sites nationwide. You will coordinate with Real Estate, Design Engineering, and Due Diligence to forecast schedules and constructability insights.

You will manage bid evaluations, contract documentation, and handoff deliverables, while traveling up to 25% to site locations across the country. The role demands extensive practical construction experience across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure experience.
• Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.
• Experience in negotiating with land sellers, developers, and general contractors.

Responsibilities

• Perform constructability reviews of critical scopes for new data center construction.
• Drive improvements in baseline through build phasing evaluations across civil, structural, electrical fields.
• Define construction scopes and request for proposals to GC; review bid summaries and prices.
• Support contracting documents and handoff project documentation to Construction Manager partners.
• Travel up to 25% of the time.
• Coordinate with Real Estate, Design Engineering, and Due Diligence teams from planning to design development.
