Job summary

Ericsson is seeking a Data Center Optical Engineer to lead optical transport and infrastructure operations in customer data centers and co-locations. You will audit work, communicate with customers, and ensure high quality execution across installations and migrations while traveling up to 50% as needed.

The role requires strong hands-on fiber optics experience, testing skills, and a proactive attitude toward safety and standards in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• 3–15 years of experience in data center operations or similar technical environment with direct customer interaction.
• Strong hands-on experience with connectorized fiber optic cabling (single-mode/multi-mode), LC, fan-outs, and structured cabling.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily audits of work performed at customer data centers and co-locations and provide feedback to technicians.
• Interact with customers via ticketing tools or in person, delivering clear reports and updates.
• Assist with fiber installation, decommissioning, break/fix, remediation and migration activities.
• Conduct and/or supervise optical testing and troubleshooting using meters, light sources, VFLs, OTDRs, and test sets.
• Deliver services by interpreting and executing MoPs, engineering documents, vendor docs and network diagrams.
• Read cut sheets and network designs to ensure accurate port connections and cable management.
