Job summary

Csquare is seeking an Operations Technician 2 to provide 24x7 data center support, handling installations, troubleshooting, monitoring and thorough documentation for customer requests.

The role requires 2+ years in an IT environment, familiarity with copper/fiber cabling, and strong problem solving. The position includes shifts, on-call duties, and potential overtime, with emphasis on teamwork and security compliance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of operational and technical experience in an IT environment required.
• College degree preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with colocation customers to isolate and troubleshoot issues.
• Install and troubleshoot copper and fiber cross connects and run bundles of cables throughout a data center.
• Layer 1 testing and terminations with LC/SC, RJ45 and related connectors.
• Document all work in ticketing system for customer requests and tasks.
• Manage incoming/outgoing tape backups and offsite transfers.
• Monitor critical systems via Building Monitoring System and support Facilities Team.
• Follow global policies and escalate events promptly to the appropriate team.
• Perform installation/de-installation including racking, dressing and labeling of cabling.
• Work with ladders and hand tools; lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Shift may include nights, weekends, and holidays; on-call overtime may be required.
• Assist with physical security, shipping/receiving and data center cleanliness.
